COCONUT CAKE

“This moist gluten-free, dairy-free coconut cake is made with canned coconut milk and my custom gluten-free flour blend (King Arthur Measure for Measure Flour works too). It's oven-baked until golden-brown, tender and fluffy. Slather with cream cheese frosting and coat it with shredded coconut for extra coconut flavor.”

The Lost Estate by Henri Alain-Fournier

“When Meaulnes first arrives at the local school in Sologne, everyone is captivated by his good looks, daring and charisma. But when Meaulnes disappears for several days, and returns with tales of a strange party at a mysterious house - and his love for the beautiful girl hidden within it, Yvonne de Galais - his life has been changed forever. In his restless search for his Lost Estate and the happiness he found there, Meaulnes, observed by his loyal friend Francois, may risk losing everything he ever had. Poised between youthful admiration and adult resignation, Alain-Fournier's compelling narrator carries the reader through this evocative and unbearably poignant portrayal of desperate friendship and vanished adolescence.”

CREATE A CONTAINER GARDEN WITH SWEET ALYSSUM

How to plant:
-Choose a pot with good drainage/large drainage holes to remove excess water, Alyssum like to be hydrated but not too soggy!
-Use a high quality, all purpose potting soil (available at your local hardware store or garden nursery)
-Gently press seeds on the soil surface and maintain moist soil.
-Allow 6-12 inches of space between plants. Alyssum will work well next to other plants as it will not overcrowd but creep around other plants in a gentle way.

Care:
-Place in a sunny area where plant receives 6+ hours of sunlight a day
-Keep well watered, allow the top two inches of soil to dry out between each watering.
-You may cut the plant back to about half after the first flowering, this will product a fuller plant as the season progresses. Leave some flowers intact - Alyssum will self-sow and produce more plants.
-Enjoy your beautiful flowers that attract butterflies and pollinators!
